Welcome to Underwater Technology 2015

National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) was established during 1993 as an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The mandate of NIOT is to develop reliable indigenous technologies to solve the various engineering problems associated with harvesting of non-living and living resources in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Also to provide competitive, value added technical services and solution to develop a knowledge base and institutional capabilities in India for management of ocean resources and environment.

The symposium is being organized by ESSO-NIOT, IEEE/OES Japan Chapter and IEEE/OES. The vision for this symposium is to provide a thematic umbrella for the researchers working in underwater system across world to discuss the problem and potential long term solution that concern not only the Indian Ocean regional countries, but the world ocean in general.

This three day event will provide opportunity for presentation of research papers, keynote lectures, poster presentations, technical interaction and exhibits by industry. As part of symposium, special student poster presentations will be organized and best paper will be given award. UT papers presented by authors during the symposium will be included to the IEEE explore digital library
